📋 Terms of Use

Summary: NJ SafeAI Hub is an AI-powered educational platform for NJ K-12 educators. By using this platform, you agree to use it responsibly, protect student data, and understand that AI-generated content requires professional review.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NJ SafeAI Hub ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

The Platform is intended for licensed NJ K-12 educators, school administrators, and pre-service teachers with verified school email addresses.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Use your official school email for registration
  • Do not share your account or allow unauthorized access
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Acceptable Use

You MAY: Generate NJ-standards-aligned content, create NJSLA practice tests, access Genesis SIS data for legitimate educational purposes, analyze student performance, and generate professional communications.

You must NOT: Enter student PII into AI tools, use AI content as a substitute for professional judgment, present AI-generated IEP/504 content as official documents, share Genesis data with unauthorized individuals, use the Platform commercially, or attempt to compromise security.

5. Student Data Protection

When using Genesis SIS data, you must comply with FERPA and COPPA, access only your assigned students' data, and report suspected breaches immediately. Your school district remains the data controller for all student records.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Important: All AI-generated content is for informational and planning purposes only and may contain inaccuracies or errors.
  • Lesson plans and assessments must be educator-reviewed before use
  • IEP/504 suggestions require Child Study Team consultation
  • AI integrity analysis is advisory only — not proof of misconduct
  • NJSLA practice questions are approximations, not actual state items
  • Policy documents require district legal review before adoption

7. Genesis SIS Integration

  • Your district must authorize the connection via API credentials
  • Data flows directly between your Genesis instance and the Platform
  • Only minimum necessary data is accessed and stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore for analytics and progress tracking
  • Your district may revoke access at any time
  • Without Genesis, the Platform operates in demo mode

8. Authentication

Educator authentication is handled via Google SSO (school Google Workspace account). We do not store passwords. Student data and practice session results are stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore for educator analytics and progress tracking.

9. Intellectual Property

AI-generated content may be used in your educational practice. You retain ownership of original content you input. The Platform's design and code are proprietary. NJSLS are property of NJDOE.

10. Service Availability

The Platform is provided "as-is" without guarantee of 100% uptime. We rely on third-party AI providers and may perform maintenance affecting availability.

11. Limitation of Liability

NJ SafeAI Hub is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content, content errors, or Genesis connectivity issues. Total liability shall not exceed amounts paid during the preceding 12 months.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify NJ SafeAI Hub from claims arising from your misuse, Terms violations, or privacy law violations.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend access for Terms violations. Districts may request removal of associated accounts.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by New Jersey law. Disputes shall be resolved in NJ state or federal courts.

15. Changes

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
